The 2024 Scholarship Application is now available!
The 2024 Scholarship Program will award several Scholarships designed to help offset some of the educational expenses and the financial burden associated with college attendance. This year, the program will award scholarships in amounts varying from $1000 to $2500 per award.

College Student Book Award
$2,500 (2 awards)
This scholarship will be awarded to a current or incoming college student. This award is to help offset the cost of books in college. The GPA requirement is 3.0.

Entering Freshman Scholarship
$2,500 (2 awards)
This scholarship will be awarded to a first-year freshman entering an institution of higher education in the fall of 2024. The GPA requirement is 2.75. The student must demonstrate outstanding contributions and leadership in their community and/or extracurricular activities.

HBCU Outstanding Scholar Award
$2,500 (1 award)
This scholarship will be awarded to one outstanding scholar attending an HBCU currently or in the fall. The GPA requirement is 3.25.

Outstanding Community Servant Award
$2,500 (1 award)
This scholarship will be awarded to a student demonstrating superior community service. The GPA requirement is 2.5, with an exceptional record of achievement in community involvement, volunteering, or other service to the community.

Foster-Jones (Taylor) Scholarship
$1,000 (1 award)
This scholarship will be awarded to a female undergraduate currently attending an HBCU, pursuing a BS degree in Health Sciences or Pre- Medicine with a cumulative GPA of 3.0. Students must demonstrate community service involvement as well as scholarly achievement.

STEM Scholar Award
$2500 (2 awards)
This scholarship will be awarded to a student planning to or currently majoring in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics at a four-year institution of higher learning. The GPA requirement is a minimum of 3.0 (preference will be given to candidates with a 3.5 GPA), with a superior academic record in STEM courses and a declared STEM major.

UEO Former Presidents’ Leadership Award
$1400 (1 award)
This scholarship will be awarded to a current college student (second-semester freshman or higher at the time of application) in a leadership position (officer, chairman, event coordinator, etc.) on their college campus or community. The GPA requirement is 2.5.

Verdina Y. Showell Award for Excellence (Medical/Legal Studies)
$2500 (1 award)
This scholarship will be awarded to a student committed to careers in the Medical (e.g., pre med/medical school) or Law (e.g., pre-law/law school) fields. The GPA requirement is 3.3 with a record of high academic achievement, completed coursework in either area or community involvement ineither area. Students in Baltimore County and Baltimore City are eligible to apply.

The Brown Family Global Navigator Scholarship
$2500 (1 award)
This scholarship will be awarded to a student majoring in policy, law STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math), international development, finance, economics, marketing, business, and HR majors which have a profound impact on global policy, foreign affairs, and the global economy. The GPA requirement is 3.0. and applicants must be rising college-level Freshmen, Sophomores, Juniors, or Seniors.

Travel with a Purpose Academic Award
$500 (2 awards)
This scholarship will be awarded to a current college student to support an already planned and/or approved study abroad or other academic travel experience. The GPA requirement is 2.75, with proof of approved upcoming academic travel.

The Refinery Entrepreneurship Award
$500 (1 award)
This scholarship will be awarded to an undergraduate college student, non-financial need, current or aspiring entrepreneur. The GPA requirement is 3.0.

Yvette Taylor Williams Memorial Scholarship
$2500 (4-year scholarship) (1 award)
This scholarship will be awarded to a current undergraduate student majoring in Art or an Arts-related field of study (Fine Arts, Visual Arts, Arts Administration) at a Historically Black College or University (HBCU). Criteria to renew the scholarship each year: o Student must maintain at least a 3.0 cumulative grade point average on a 4.0 scale. o Must be enrolled full-time and earn at least 12 credits per semester.

The Daniel Harbison Engineering/Business Scholarship
$1500 (1 award)
This scholarship will be awarded to a current college student, sophomore or higher, who has a declared (admitted in the school’s program) in Engineering or Business School Major. The GPA requirement is 3.0, with preference going to students with a 3.5 or higher.

The Inspired to Teach Scholarship
$1500 (1 award)
This scholarship will be awarded to a current college student, sophomore, junior, or senior at a 4-year accredited college or university. Students must demonstrate leadership ability and have a declared education major or a major with the intention to teach upon graduation. The GPA requirement is 3.0 or higher.
