The Precious Pearls Cotillion program is a 6-month program open to high school juniors and seniors. These young women demonstrate exemplary academic achievement, exceptional character, involvement in extra-curricular activities and community service.
The program consists of activities designed to enhance the academic, social, cultural, and civic awareness of selected high school women and promote self-confidence, poise, and esteem among all participants. Workshops focused on topics pertinent to the young women of this community. The culmination of the program is the Cotillion Ball.
History of Precious Pearls
Ladies of Vision Charities, Inc. in collaboration with the Upsilon Epsilon Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. has sponsored the PPCP for over 17 years. The first program was offered in 2008.
The Precious Pearls Cotillion Program (PPCP) is a 6-month program that provides training in etiquette, social and life skills. The PPCP builds self-confidence and character and helps set boundaries for behavior. The Precious Pearls Debutante Cotillion Program seeks high school juniors and seniors who demonstrate exemplary academic achievement, possess exceptional character, and have outstanding involvement in extracurricular activities and community service. By equipping young ladies ages 15 to 18 in our community with some of the tools to integrate into an increasingly competitive society, we are building a foundation for social awareness for future relationships and career opportunities. The 2024-2025 application and review process began in October 2024. The application deadline is November 14, 2024.
The program culminates with the Precious Pearls Cotillion Presentation, where the young ladies are presented as Debutantes to society. Debutante winners will be awarded educational scholarships and special recognitions. Our next cotillion is scheduled for June 2025.
Since the program’s inception, with community support, we have awarded over $78,000 in Precious Pearls Cotillion scholarships, and the Debutantes have been involved in numerous community service projects within the Baltimore County community and surrounding areas.
